Frequently Asked Questions

What is standard vs boosted?

Boosting a chapter increases the quality of the translation and makes it even more readable as it uses a more advanced model. But it is also more expensive to run, so we provided a standard translation which is a nice tradeoff between price and quality.

How can I translate very explicit content?

If you get something like a 'Sorry I can’t answer that' on the standard model, it’s likely very explicit and you will need to boost the chapter to translate it (but the standard model works on milder stuff). If you think the content shouldn't be flagged, please report this to us with a link to your chapter!

Can I translate and read on a mobile phone?

Yes! OpenNovel supports translating from iPhone/iPad, Android and laptops/PCs.

Do you support any other payment methods apart from credit/debit card?

gcash and Maya have virtual card features that you can use for payment. If you need to use paypal, please email support@opennovel.co and we'll get back to you in a day.

Will my boosts and ePub credits get carried over to the next month?

Yes!

How can I buy more boosts or ePub credits?

After you log in, click on 'Manage Plan', and there will be a button to purchase more boosts and/or ePub credits.

Will the limited access discount only last for the first month?

As long as you subscribe during the early access period, the discount will continue to apply for as long as you are subscribed to OpenNovel 😊

Why did my chapter get split into parts?

We ingest chapters of any length and automatically split these up for you in a way that doesn't degrade the translation quality. Chapters are of different lengths across various websites, so for us to accommodate everything fairly, we split if into parts if it's long enough to affect translation quality.

What bundles do you offer for ePub credits?

Bookworm users get 1000 ePub credits per month included in their plan. Hobby users can purchase ePub credit bundles at $5 for 300 parts, $10 for 800 parts and $15 for 1500 parts.

How many parts can I auto-translate at a time?

While there's technically no limit to the number of parts you can auto-translate at a time, it does take longer the more parts you auto-translate. We recommend you translate up to a couple hundred parts at a time and then export and read those first.

Will I get charged ePub credits again if I re-export it after making some edits?

No, you will not be charged again for re-exporting parts that you previously auto-translated or exported.
